CERAMICORE® versus Conventional CO2 Lasers

Designed for Long-Lasting Stability

Conventional CO2 lasers use glass or metal tube designs with internal metal electrodes. All these designs enclose the laser gas mixture of carbon dioxide, helium, and nitrogen with metal electrodes and other components.

The laser gas is energized through the electrodes inside the tube. Over time, the internal metal electrodes shed atoms that degrade the laser gas. This also contaminates the internal optics and eventually reduces power.

The CERAMICORE® Innovation

CERAMICORE® technology provides a non-reactive container for the laser gas mixture. The metal electrodes that excite the laser gas are fixed to the outside of the ceramic to prevent contamination.

This way, there is no loss of power and you get a stable laser beam for many years. In the event of laser gas degradation, Iradion provides free refills for a 7-year period from the date of shipment.

Benefits

CERAMICORE® Lasers: a New Standard of Excellence

Superior Part Quality

All Iradion’s CERAMICORE® lasers provide power and stability with the widest power range from 2 % to 100 % programmable wattage. Jobs needing limited energy input or ones requiring maximum power can be easily set up with precision.

Long-Term Reliable Part Production

All lasers can perform when they are new, but can they guarantee consistent and reliable long-term results? CERAMICORE® eliminates laser gas degradation and power loss issues of conventional CO2 lasers.

Maximum Productivity and Uptime

Iradion lasers offer an optional pulsing mode with the fastest pulse rise/fall times in the industry. This translates to productivity gains of up to 4x typical CO2 lasers, while achieving maximum uptime.

Advantages

Industry-Leading CERAMICORE® Lasers

Iradion’s CO2 lasers maintain consistent optical alignments, power, pointing stability, and beam quality. Higher laser gas chamber pressures enable extended power stability from 2 % to 100 % wattage.

CERAMICORE® lasers have a proprietary chamber configuration. They produce some of the lowest pulse rise and fall times in the industry under 40 milliseconds.

The innovative Iradion technology simplifies laser construction using 30 % fewer components. This ensures greater durability and reliability compared to other CO2 lasers.
